Choral Festival Each year, the National Association for Music Educators (NAfME) sponsors several statewide choral events for chorus members. The NAfME has divided the state into sixteen districts. West Springfield High School is in District XI. The District XI Choral Assessment is an event open to all schools in our district. Each chorus performs a warm-up selection and two adjudicated selections before a panel of three judges. The judges grade each chorus on their performance, giving each chorus a rating (superior, excellent, good, or fair) and comments. Each chorus is also judged on their sight-reading ability. This concert is open to the public and takes places from Friday to Saturday during the third week of March.
